Marion Faith Laird has always loved western Arkansas, first arriving when she was three weeks old. Despite (or perhaps because of) being part of a military family and moving every few years, she always ended up on her grandparents' property. A few years ago, she returned there to live.

Not surprisingly, being "Back Home" inspired her to write about the area she's always loved.

Dainger County was born years ago as a song. It didn't become a novel until National Novel Writing Month, when Marion was actively seeking a place for her romantic suspense novel. As she wrote, the county began to take shape in her mind, ending up being very like home--and very unlike!
